What resources do you use for creating your work? hand-drawn sketches, scanner, photoshop, illustrator, pantone swatches
Can you share any of your secret tips?
I love creating custom photoshop brushes from my sketches and illustrations...they're perfect to use when making patterns and repeated design motifs
What did your parents want you to be instead of an artist?
a journalist... ha!
Is there a piece of art you wished you had created, and why?
I can't name one thing I particular that I wished I had designed because there is so much great design work out there, but I do value the time that is put into it when done well. I'm always completely fascinated with great interior design spaces because they are such multi-faceted design projects...I love the work of Kelly Wearstler and Jonathan Adler and would love to design at that scale someday.
What gets you excited about tomorrow? new project ideas that I'm always in the middle of and can't wait to see to fruition!
How would you refer to the current artistic style and mindset you live in today?
technology is making it easier to see the possibilities of design into new ideas and new products... this provides a new outlook and mindset when creating... sort of a 'sky's the limit' way of thinking. As far as artistic style, I've always loved modern design, yet I'm drawn to maximalism the same way I'm drawn to minimalism. I see myself mixing the two in some eclectic fashion to create a new approach to creating modern graphics/spaces/products.
