Artist Gabrielle Lasporte has stacked playful archways into a steady repeating pattern that evokes the sensation of cartoon-like fish scales migrating up the wall. The arches are reminiscent of colour-constrained rainbows, and are layered with a richly expressed traditional batik process that allows the texture of dyed fabric to become stratified by the splatter created by hot-wax resistance.
