Artist Gabrielle Lasporte has used a traditional wax-resist batik method to render fern-like foliage into a repeating pattern of overlapping leaves. The thick, hand-drawn outlines are placed onto a rough-hewn canvas backing, while layers of splatter create a rich dimensionality to the image. The result is a casual adventure into an indoor forest.
