Artists Katie & Paul mindfully designed their Zenergy series with the intention to stimulate calmness. Each of the three patterns depicts a specific plant species (Monstera, Snake, and Rubber), and applies two special effects to its illustration: a softly cast shadow, and a concentric ripple effect ("Mizuman") that emanates outward from the main graphical element. The background evokes Samon patterns found in Japanese dry landscape gardens, where gravel is carefully raked to suggest water rippling outward when disturbed by a pebble or raindrop. The overall effect of this playful repeating pattern is high visual interest combined with subtle cues for viewers to channel their inner calm.
