Rollout teamed with Starbucks to design a series of murals for several of their retail locations in the US. The murals showcase the art behind the patented Starbucks Clover Brewing Machine technology, a sophisticated and exclusive brewing system used by the company to create consistently impeccable brewed coffee each time it is made in-house.

The Clover Starbucks mural effect was achieved through blending digital and traditional approaches to the artwork; incorporating scans of hand drawn line drawings in chalk on a blackboard surface that were digitally manipulated to blend with computer generated artwork.

The resulting style is a hybrid of classic 19th Century technical diagrams with elements of mid-century advertising drawing that depict the components and functionality of the brewing system, illustrating a rich and compelling story that continues to unfold in new ways with each viewing.
