New Materialism is a collaboration between Rollout and veteran surface designer Robert Sangster. The collection presents an array of patterns that feature hand-made surface treatments such as rust, patina, concrete, and foiling. Serving as a veritable archive of Sangster's career, the collection offers a retrospective of his creative explorations across the years. It embraces the idea of beautiful imperfection, drawing on the tactile and immersive nature of Sangster's practice. New Materialism celebrates the inherent qualities of a working studio's most basic materials. It plays with themes of construction, distress, and decay, with a particular focus on human-scale textures that are infused with a sense of romance and nostalgia.
