This pattern by artist Ryan Tomkinson was an exercise in using only a single shape – the diamond: “I created depth and contrast while playing with both negative and positive space equally. Depending on the colour palette, the visual effect can serve as a dramatic and vibrant focal point, or it can behave as a more traditionally subtle pattern to add innocuous texture to an environment.”
